The light of life

In the depths of winter it can be a struggle to cling to optimism and hope. With shorter days and longer nights, we have a visual reminder of the reality of this sinful world we live in. Since the fall, we have been people walking in spiritual darkness. However, as Pastor John taught last Sunday, darkness is merely the absence of light. During their exodus from Egypt, God provided the Israelites with a pillar of fire at night. Centuries later, He sent us all an Everlasting Light in Jesus. As children of Christ, we have the greatest of all lights in our life. We no longer have to fear the darkness of sin in this world, for we have one sure hope that dispels all darkness. Jesus himself, is the Light of life that we can cling to, offering us eternal salvation and a stronghold to face any storm or trial.
