A Faith-Based, 12-Step Recovery Program and Support Group
Celebrate Recovery is a drop-in support group for anyone with hurts, habits, or hang-ups. Similar to AA, Celebrate Recovery uses the 12-step approach to healing and recovery with an emphasis on faith.
The purpose of Celebrate Recovery at Essential Rock Church is to foster fellowship. We seek to celebrate God's healing power in our lives through the eight recovery principles found in the Beatitudes as well as the Christ-centered twelve steps. Experiencing these things allows us to be changed. We open the door for this change to happen by sharing our experiences, victories, and hopes with one another. In addition, we open ourselves up to become willing to accept God's grace in solving our life problems.
Celebrate Recovery is a faith-based, 12-step program where we can gain freedom, acceptance, and accountability for life's hurts, habits, and hang-ups.
By applying the 8 Recovery Principles within the 12-step program, we open ourselves up to God's grace so that we can break free. We also open the door to recovery by sharing our experiences and hopes with one another.
The Celebrate Recovery ministry is open to all ages, and is for anyone who has a hurt, habit, or hang-up that keeps them from fully enjoying relationship with God, themselves, and others.
A typical meeting begins with worship, an opening prayer and welcome time. Each person will then introduce themselves and if comfortable, state their admissions as we go around the group.
We unwind through songs of celebration and worship, then spend some time studying the 8 priciples of recovery and the 12 steps. At this point, people may share their testimonies and the lessons that we can all learn from them.
For the remainder of the meeting, we will break into separate male and female groups for discussion. The meeting is then closed with the Lord's Prayer.
We all struggle!
Anyone who desires a new way of managing life should consider attending Celebrate Recovery. Participants may include people who struggle with anger, co-dependancy, overworking, various addictions including alcohol and drugs, compulsive over/under-eating, pornography, internet addictions, same-sex attraction, difficulty moving past the effects of sexual, physical, or emotional abuse, bullying, or anything else that gets in the way of your relationship with God and others and keeps us from becoming the people we are truly designed to be.
Celebrate Recovery meets every Thursday evening at 6:30 pm.
Each session lasts about an hour and a half.
